A new astronomical year begins March 20th 2025
Astronomical year begins when the Sun returns to the beginning of the ecliptic or 0° Aries, which is the pathway or course through which the Sun travels. The Sun at 0°Aries represents the Vernal equinox and start of Spring season, when new life, new growth is seen on the earth. It is characterized by flowers blooming, rainfall and the beginning of the growing season in the northern hemisphere. Without the Sun, there can be no life on Earth, so when looking at the placements of the planets at the point of Sun’s ingress, the position of the Sun and the contacts it makes with other planets is the primary thing.
This also carries significant meaning for Elohim’s people in their journey as the Ecclesia growing into Sonship and ‘Sun-ship’, with the understanding that the Sun in the sky is an expression of Christ and Yahshua, who is the beginning of creation and Sun of Righteousness.
The journey to sun-ship
Closely connected to the sun’s journey through the ecliptic is the understanding that we are being prepared to radiate as the Sun like mother Deborah prayed in Judges 5:31 – ‘let them that love Him be as the Sun when he goeth forth in his might’. I recall that in 2023, a prophetic speaking was shared with me in which the Lord said that there is a mystery of towering into the heavens that is hidden in the Sun and Psalm 84:11 was given with that word – “For the Lord God is a sun and shield: the Lord will give grace and glory: no good thing will he withhold from them that walk uprightly”. I sense that this conversation is being furthered to accomplish this towering in the heavens through the course of the year.
This journey of the Sun in us is also comparable to the silent march of Israel around the wall of Jericho led by Joshua. Though the Sun makes no audible sound to be heard by natural ears, the Sun has a voice that is heard by all creation as stated in Psalm 19:3. As we march silently in stillness and meditation mother Deborah’s prayer is being worked into us in grace - they that love him are becoming as the SUN when he goeth forth in his might.
Below are scriptures to contemplate and pray with as we approach the new year.

The heavens declare the glory of God; and the firmament sheweth his handywork. Day unto day uttereth speech, and night unto night sheweth knowledge. There is no speech nor language, where their voice is not heard. Their line is gone out through all the earth, and their words to the end of the world. In them hath he set a tabernacle for the SUN, which is as a bridegroom coming out of his chamber, and rejoiceth as a strong man to run a race. His going forth is from the end of the heaven, and his circuit unto the ends of it: and there is nothing hid from the heat thereof. Psalm 19:1-6

During your meditations, you may want to take a few minutes to chant the combination of prayers of Mama Deborah and Isaiah 30:26, saying “: I that love Him am as the SUN when he goeth forth in his might and my light is as the light of seven days”, but feel free to chant whatever the Holy Spirit gives you.
The Sun begins its race in strength
The astronomical new year, or the Sun’s return to 0° Aries is a time for new beginnings and fresh starts, commencing new enterprises, planting new seeds both agriculturally and otherwise.
0° Aries is the most energetic degree of the ecliptic (pathway of the Sun) because it is the beginning of the strength of the Sun in its course. “Reuben, thou art my firstborn, my might, and the beginning of my strength, the excellency of dignity, and the excellency of power…” quite like “… a strong man to run a race”. The degree and really, entire sign of Aries resonates with strength, might, motivation, drive, passion, self-assertion, ability, can-do spirit; and ruled by the planets Mars and Pluto. Aries is associated with boldness, courage, dynamism, directness, optimism and initiative, making it a meaningful place for the year to begin. As Sons, we want to commence the journey with the Sun of Righteousness who is the beginning of creation as He goes forth in strength, boldness and initiative, rejoicing to run a race. Sun at 0° Aries means we have completed a cycle through the 12 gates or houses in the heavens in the journey of our soul for the year, and about to commence a fresh one. It helps to start the year intentionally and meaningfully, appreciating our co-heir status, and in acknowledging the one who is the Heir of it all, Yahshua, Sun of Righteousness, First Begotten and elder brother.
Come March 20 (10:01am WAT), when the Sun enters 0° Aries, the picture of the year is set in the heavens by the Divine Intelligence of I AM, and here in this article, we want to explore some of what the year has in store for us.
A New beginning
The astronomical new year affords us the opportunity to begin fresh initiatives, asserting ourselves and confronting issues with boldness and courage. Seen as an opportunity for a fresh start, we can take leadership, courage and boldness to initiate new enterprises for the year. Its also a great opportunity to enter a deliberate journey with the Holy Spirit and see how we experience the Bride Groom that rejoices to run a race.
The Sun’s message this year
During the ingress season, there is a tendency to be more self-aware of our I AM-ness, emotionally sensitive and intuitive. This could help us to be more introspective, to count our blessings and give thanks for where He has brought us to. In addition, the season brings a heightened sense of altruism, spirituality, compassion, self-awareness, a desire to be devoted to a person (including spiritual devotion) or a cause and we are willing to make sacrifices for what we believe in. A desire to withdraw from certain endeavors and partnerships, or simply to temporarily withdraw from certain mundane affairs in order to pursue a more spiritual practice such as meditation, contemplation or other spiritual practices. Starting the year in this manner actually helps the entire journey in general but these will also be strong this year.
As the year commences, we could be faced with situations, circumstances or revelations that help us to see how we have given too much to the ego and hopefully allow its dissolution, so that we eventually see through the fog of emotional responses that we may have been faced with, embracing greater clarity and focus. Questions around purpose, initiating selfless, humanitarian efforts are strong themes for the year.
Participation in group dynamics, disciplined exploration of creative ideas, courageously owning our sense of self-worth and asserting ourselves in relationships are strong themes we are exploring this year.
The year comes with tremendous, exciting opportunities for resolution of contentious situations through the agents of transformation and change; creative use of power, changes to our environment, cleaning up prevailing group situations that have become thorny, pursuit of group interests, changes to/in leadership and governance, significant changes from representative arms of government, transformative changes in finance are some themes we will be interacting with.
We are encouraged throughout the course of the year to be sensitive, compassionate and caring of others and to be our brother’s keeper. “Defend the poor and fatherless: do justice to the afflicted and needy. Deliver the poor and needy: rid them out of the hand of the wicked” – Psalm 82:3-4
Women roles are highlighted as the year is set up for women to play strategic, significant roles as protectors, nurturers and teachers and advocates for the needy. The role of women as mothers is set up to bring about abundance.
In conclusion
As we align with the Sun of Righteousness and welcome the New Year, let us declare “Give ear, O ye heavens, and I will speak; and hear, O earth, the words of my mouth. My doctrine shall drop as the rain, my speech shall distil as the dew, as the small rain upon the tender herb, and as the showers upon the grass: Because I will publish the name of the Lord: ascribe ye greatness unto our God. He is the Rock, his work is perfect: for all his ways are judgment: a God of truth and without iniquity, just and right is he”.
